You Have Options

31st August 2019

Scripture Reading: Acts 27: 41-44, 28: 1-6

Focus

“43. But the centurion, willing to save Paul, kept them from their purpose; and commanded that they which could swim should cast themselves first into the sea, and get to land: 44. And the rest, some on boards, and some on broken pieces of the ship. And so it came to pass, that they escaped all safe to land.” (Acts 27: 43-44)

When the ship that ferried Paul and the other prisoners broke into pieces in the midst of the sea, the centurion encouraged those who could swim to get into the water. Some eventually held on to broken pieces of the ship, some held on to boards, but in the end, every one of them got to the sea shore. The ship gave way, and they were forced to take other options that all took them to the sea shore. As the ship broke, they had options.

Friend, when the ships of this world break in the midst of your seas, just remember that you have options. Whatever has failed you is not your last option. Those that disappointed you are not your only options. Those that refused to make things work are not your only options. Those that decided to shut down your progress are not your only options. Those that elected to push you out of opportunities are not your only options.

If they have rejected you, God will bring those that will accept you; if they have said no to you, God will bring those that will say yes to you; if they have shut doors at you, God will bring those that will open new doors to you; if the main plan has failed, God will give you another plan; if your strategy has failed, another strategy will arise; if your ship has failed, you can either swim or latch onto a piece of the ship, and sail to shore.

The ship had broken to pieces, things were no longer complete, but some of those prisoners that sailed with Apostle Paul held on to small pieces and they all got to the shore safely. Hear me as I hear the Lord: even when things are not complete, you will get there. In the midst of your fragments and broken pieces, you will get there. Things may be incomplete, but you will get there.

Your sufficiency is not of man; it is of God Himself; and if there be as little as a broken piece or fragment, God will use it to help you get to your destination.

Declaration

I have options; even with broken pieces, I will get there, in Jesus’ name!
