You Have The Power

29th July 2019

Scripture Reading: Luke 8: 22-25

Focus

“And they came to him, and awoke him, saying, Master, master, we perish. Then he arose, and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water: and they ceased, and there was a calm.” (Luke 8: 24)

When the storms arose against Jesus and His disciples, it filled their ship with water, and they were in jeopardy. Jesus was in the ship, and whereas the waters may have filled the ship and possibly spoilt a few things, Jesus was still intact and still had the power to still the storm. Anything could have been lost as the water entered the ship, but Jesus’ ability to still the storm was not lost. What was needed to still the storm wasn’t taken.

Friend, no matter how badly the storms beat you, they cannot take away your ability to still the storm. The challenges you face will not kill your abilities and capabilities. The pitfalls and roadblocks on your path will not stop you from being what God already packaged and ordained you to be. The attacks against you will not stop you from being the mighty one that God has made you. The storms won’t steal what you have in you.

The storms can only test your faith, but will not steal what is on the inside. The storms can only bark or even bite, but they don’t have what it takes to consume you if Jesus lives in you. The attack of the enemy can only take what you have at best, but cannot change who you are; the storms will not tamper with the power of God at work in you; the storms will not change your identity; the storms will not redefine your destiny.

Stop overrating the storms that have come your way; stop making the devil seem more important than he truly is; stop making the forces of darkness seem like they have the power to determine who you are and what you will or can do; what God has planted in you cannot be taken by storms; the power of God in you cannot be depleted by whatever storms that come your way.

Face your storms, but don’t make them bigger than your God or the capacity that God put in you. You have what it takes to still the storm, and no storm can rob you of that power.
