In our Focal Scripture, Elisha called one of the sons of the prophets and mandated him to go to Ramothgilead to anoint Jehu as king. Ordinarily, Kings were anointed by national prophets in Old Testament times. Notice that Elisha did not select a national prophet; he selected a prophet who was not even fully trained. He selected a prophet who was really not qualified. So that prophet took on a function he was not qualified for.
Friend, hear me as I hear the Lord: you may not be the most qualified, but you will be chosen for greater works. You will be selected to operate in high places. You will be chosen for special functions. You will be given privileges that you are clearly not qualified for. You will be given opportunities that are bigger than you. You will be chosen and made distinct ahead of your contemporaries. You will be placed ahead of people around you.
Anointing a king was a function that a prophet in training should not be allowed to do, but this son of the prophet got the chance to get it done. He crossed the line that others did not cross. Hear me as I hear the Lord: you are a line crosser. You are crossing over the boundaries that others have not crossed. You are breaking the limits that others did not break. You are hitting the targets that others are yet to hit. You are placed ahead.
You have been selected for distinction. You have been handpicked for high places. You have been chosen to be more than your contemporaries. You have the favour of being more than you are qualified for. You have the grace to operate above your capacity. Where the protocols of men have disqualified you, the Lord Himself will qualify you. Where men said you are too small to enter, the Lord Himself will take you in there.
Welcome to that new season where you will receive more than you deserve. Welcome to that season where you shall have more than you are qualified for.
