You Still Have Wheat

14th December 2021

Scripture Reading: Judges 6: 1-14

Focus

“And there came an angel of the LORD, and sat under an oak which was in Ophrah, that pertained unto Joash the Abiezrite: and his son Gideon threshed wheat by the winepress, to hide it from the Midianites.” (Judges 6: 11)

Our Focal Scripture makes mention of that moment when Gideon was threshing wheat by the winepress, to hide it from the Midianites. This was in a season when the enemies of Israel stood by to destroy the increase from their fields. At a time when others had lost the harvest from their fields to the Midianites, Gideon still had wheat. At a time when others lost everything, Gideon still had wheat. He was exempted from disaster.

Friend, hear me as I hear the Lord: no matter how much terror the enemy unleashes around you, you will still have wheat. No matter how difficult the economy becomes, you will still have wheat. No matter how things move from bad to worse, you will still have wheat. No matter how people try to paint a gloomy picture of 2022, you will still have wheat. No matter the traps that your enemies have set for you, you will still have wheat.

Hear me as I hear the Lord: no matter how things go down around you, you will still have wheat. No matter how the best economists of this world predict the worst ever economic disasters yet to come, you will still have wheat. No matter how negativity looms large, you will still have wheat. Your supplies will not be affected by what happens in your environment, you will still have wheat. No matter the conspiracies and enemies, you have wheat.

Your covenant with God transcends the limitations and confinements in your environment. The reliability of the God you serve is not affected by the situation of your country. The limitations you see around you do not affect divine operations. The same God who empowered Gideon to have wheat when others did not have, will also empower you to have wheat when others have no wheat. The God of Gideon is your God.

Look above your environment and focus on the God who is way bigger than whatever circumstances you face. If God be for you, you will still have wheat.
