It is important to observe that Saul was from the tribe of Benjamin. Benjamin was the last son of Jacob; it was known as the least tribe of Israel. Saul was from the least tribe, he was from the tribe that should not be considered for royalty, but God Himself selected Saul as king. God took what should be given to people from ‘senior’ tribes, and gave same to Saul. God took what was meant for the greater, and gave it to the smaller.
Friend, you may be counted amongst the smaller, you may be counted amongst the least, you may be counted amongst them that are not qualified, you may have so many people who should ordinarily be preferred ahead of you, you may have the disadvantage of being the least amongst your competitors, you may be that one that is least favoured, but hear me as I hear the Lord: you will be chosen ahead of the crowd.
God will cause you to be selected ahead of those that may even be more qualified and connected than you are. God will cause you to be preferred above those who showed up before you. God will cause you to be preferred ahead of your superiors. God will cause you to be preferred ahead of those who ordinarily have the right to be preferred. God will cause you to be chosen for thrones that should belong to those ahead of you.
Saul did not need to contend with anyone in order to become king. God took what men would ordinarily fight for, and gave it to Saul on a platter. Hear me as I hear the Lord: what others are struggling for, you will get it on a platter of grace. What others are chasing after, will come chasing after you. What others have been dreaming of, will come to you with ease.
Get set to be preferred for new thrones and crowns. Get set to be chosen even when you are amongst the least.
