You Will Escape

19th May 2021

Scripture Reading: 1 Samuel 30: 1-20

Focus

“And David said to Abiathar the priest, Ahimelech's son, I pray thee, bring me hither the ephod. And Abiathar brought thither the ephod to David.” (1 Samuel 30: 7)

In 1 Samuel 22, Saul ordered Doeg the Edomite to kill all the priests; and in the end, eighty five priests were slain, but one, Abiathar, escaped. Abiathar was the only priest who survived the attack of Saul on his lineage, and he fled after David. Abiathar would later be the one through whom God showed David what to do when the Amalekites came against them. Abiathar escaped for a purpose that heaven would later unveil.

Friend, if you have escaped the attacks of the enemy in the past, it is for a purpose. If you didn’t go down when others around you went down, it is for a purpose. If you didn’t fail when others failed, it is for a purpose; if you didn’t go under when others went under, then God spared you in order to use you to fulfill a future purpose; if things went wrong but you weren’t involved, it’s all for a purpose that heaven determined.

If it is a conspiracy, you will escape; if it is a trial, you will escape; if it is a setback, you will escape; if they come for your life literally, you will escape; if they want you to be a victim of whatever has happened to others around you, you will escape; if they want you to suffer for doing nothing, you will escape; if they want to cut you out of circulation and out of relevance, you will escape; whatever the enemy does, you will escape.

Abiathar escaped because there was a divine agenda to fulfill. When the Lord gives you the grace to escape from the wiles of the enemy, it is because He has a purpose for you to fulfill. Discover the purpose of your escape and pay attention to it; discover the divine purpose that does not allow God to hand you over to the wishes of the enemy; discover the divine purpose for which heaven will not allow you to be a victim.

Your destiny is big; there is a place you are going to; there is an assignment you are yet to fulfill; and because of that, you will survive and escape.
