In our Focal Scripture, Elisha sent one of the sons of the prophets to go and anoint Jehu in Ramothgilead. Notice that in 1 Kings 22, Ahab had died in Ramothgilead. In the same Ramothgilead, Jehu was anointed as King of Israel. The same place where Ahab went down was the place where Jehu went up. The place of Ahab’s downfall was the place of Jehu’s rising. The place of Ahab’s demotion was the place of Jehu’s elevation.
Friend, hear me as I hear the Lord: where others went down, you will go up. In the same places where others were reduced, you will increase. In the same place where others were rejected, you will be accepted. In the same place where others were dethroned, you will be enthroned. In the same place where others were pushed out or pushed down, you will be raised higher. You will be promoted where others were demoted.
Ramothgilead was the environment of Ahab’s downfall, but it also later became the environment of Jehu’s elevation to royalty. The same environment that swallowed one man, caused another man to emerge. Hear me as I hear the Lord: the same environment that swallowed others will position you for your emergence. The same environment that consumed others will position you for a fresh rising and divine establishment.
Ahab may have gone down in Ramothgilead, but there was a prophecy on the life of Jehu, and that prophecy caused Jehu to have a different outcome from the same place where another man had a bad result. Because of the word of the Lord over your life, even if everyone has a negative result from your environment, your case will be different. Even if everyone is stuck with bad results, your results will be better and greater.
You are not Ahab: you will not go down in Ramothgilead. You will rise where others have fallen.
