Our Focal Scripture speaks of that moment when Joshua was standing by Jericho. He had come close to Jericho but he was yet to enter in. He had come close to God’s promise for the children of Israel, but there was still a wall stopping him from entering in. He had come close to the place of his congratulations, but he was yet to possess it. He had come to his wealthy place, but it was not yet a reality. He came pretty close to his new season.
Notice that in subsequent verses of scripture, Joshua entered into Jericho. He not only came close to his possession; he actually possessed his possession. He did not only come close to the promise of God; he carried it with his own hands. He was not just a spectator of what the Lord had done; he became a partaker of the goodness of God. He came close to his breakthrough, and he broke through. God’s promise became his reality.
Friend, hear me as I hear the Lord: you will not only come close to the promise of God; you will carry it with your own hands. You will not only come close to your Jericho; you will step in and possess your possession. You will not only see your new season opportunities; you will enter in and possess those opportunities. You will not just watch doors and gates open before you; you will walk through the doors and gates and possess your portion.
Some people only heard about the Promised Land; some others saw it with their eyes; but Joshua was of that generation that entered into the Promised Land. Hear me as I hear the Lord: you will not be counted amongst those who only saw the Promised Land; you will be counted amongst them that also entered in. You will be counted amongst those that possessed their possession. You will be counted amongst the winners.
The days of coming close but not entering in, are over. As you come close, you will step into your Jericho.
