You Will Survive

Scripture Reading: Mark 5: 21-34

Focus

“And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years,” (Mark 5: 25)

As Jesus joined Jairus to go and heal his daughter, a certain woman with the issue of blood showed up. That woman had been in that situation for twelve years. For twelve years, she lost blood; for twelve years, she suffered a condition that made her a laughing stock among men; for twelve years, she found herself in a situation that her finances could not contain; for twelve years, affliction lived with this woman.

Despite everything she went through, this woman survived and kept pushing. Her situation may have been bad, but it didn’t kill her; her situation may have made a mess of her finances, but she remained alive; her situation may have brought her pain and ridicule, but she remained afloat. What she passed through did not kill her; what she passed through did not stop her; what she passed through did not have the final say in her life.

Friend, hear me as I hear the Lord: whatever you are going through will not kill you; whatever challenges you are facing will not subdue you; whatever situation that wants to break you will not succeed in breaking you; whatever negativity you are battling with will not have the final say concerning your life; whatever battles you are facing will not cut short your destiny; your circumstances will not have the final say.

The woman with the issue of blood may have looked finished, down and out; but one day, she came in contact with Jesus and her situation changed immediately. She came in contact with Jesus, and what wanted to kill her came to an end. You may be down and out at the moment, but wait for Jesus, He is about to show up and make a mess of whatever wants to mess up your life for you. When Jesus shows up, He shows off.

Focus on where you are going to, not what you are going through; focus on your future, not on your present setbacks and challenges. Focus on where God is taking you to, not what is happening to you on the way. If you don’t give up, you will be victorious.
