You’ll Be Rewarded

25th April 2021

Scripture Reading: Luke 19: 12-27

Focus

“And he said unto them that stood by, Take from him the pound, and give it to him that hath ten pounds.” (Luke 19: 24)

Our Focal Scripture speaks of that moment when the noble man commanded that the one pound earlier given to the slothful servant be given to the servant who gained ten pounds. It was a moment when excellence was rewarded and foolishness condemned. It was a moment when the good servant, who may not have been expecting a reward, got rewarded. It was a moment when it became obvious that excellence was preferred.

Friend, if you have chosen to walk the path of excellence, then get set to be preferred. Excellence will cause you to be preferred. Excellence will give you what was originally meant for others. Excellence will cause you to be positioned ahead of your contemporaries. Excellence will position you ahead of the crowd. Excellence will give you what you may not have asked for. Excellence will create space for you at the top.

The noble man began by sharing his pounds amongst several servants; but when the good servant showed himself to be faithful and diligent, the attention of the noble man was turned on him. Excellence caused him to attract the right attention. Hear me as I hear the Lord: as you excel, God will cause you to attract the attention of men that matter. Excellence will cause the spotlight to be on you.

There were men around the noble man who reminded him that the good servant already had ten pounds, but they could not deter the noble man from extending one more pound to a man he considered fruitful and excellent. The excellence of the good servant drowned the voices of those that were against him. Hear me as I hear the Lord: as you excel, your excellence will drown the voices of your opposers and naysayers.

Keep excelling, and you will have more results. Keep being your best, and the portion of others will be given to you.

Declaration

I choose to excel; I will be rewarded with more, in Jesus’ name!
