Face Your Assignment

13th January 2020

Scripture Reading: 1 Samuel 10: 1-7

Focus

“Then Samuel took a vial of oil, and poured it upon his head, and kissed him, and said, Is it not because the LORD hath anointed thee to be captain over his inheritance?” (1 Samuel 10: 1)

In our Focal Scripture, Samuel told Saul that God had chosen him to be captain over the Lord’s inheritance. God was not mistaken when He preferred to call Saul a Captain rather than a King. A captain is the head of a military team, tasked to fight battles. So there was a responsibility for Saul in his new position. It was not going to be all about Saul’s new position; it was more about the responsibility attached to his new position.

Friend, great men are men who find the responsibility in their position and fulfill it. Great men do not just step into positions to enjoy same and abandon the responsibilities. Great men realize that there is work to be done even while sitting on the throne; great men realize that there are tasks to be accomplished, and they lead from the front to accomplish same; great men know that there is a responsibility in their greatness.

For every throne and crown that God will bring your way in 2020, there is an assignment to be accomplished. There is a responsibility for you on that throne; there is an assignment for you as you step into the new doors that heaven has opened for you; there is an assignment for you in the divine provision that God has made happen for you; there is an assignment for you to face squarely if you will fulfill destiny.

For every lifting, there is a responsibility; for every increase, there is an assignment; for every advancement, there is something the Lord would have you do more; for every addition, there is more that the Lord expects from you. Jesus did not redeem you so that you can fold your arms and be a king with no battles and responsibilities. You were redeemed to face the enemy squarely.

Arise and face the responsibilities attached to your throne. Don’t be that king that prefers enjoyment to responsibility. Face your responsibilities; face your assignment.

Declaration

In 2020, I face my responsibilities, in Jesus’ name!
