Face Your Battles

Face Your Battles

5th January 2020

Scripture Reading: 1 Samuel 10: 1-7

Focus

“Then Samuel took a vial of oil, and poured it upon his head, and kissed him, and said, Is it not because the LORD hath anointed thee to be captain over his inheritance?” (1 Samuel 10: 1)

In our Focal Scripture, Prophet Samuel informed Saul that he had been anointed as captain over the people of God. A captain is a warrior. So Saul had just been anointed, and he was going to wear a crown and sit on a throne that would attract battles for him. His throne was going to connect him to battles that he must fight. It was not going to be a throne he would rest on; it was a throne that was to expose him to battles.

Friend, your thrones and crowns will not exempt you from the battles of life. As 2020 begins, there are battles waiting for you; there are challenges waiting to pull you down; there are oppositions, conspiracies, etc seeking a chance to make a mess of your destiny; there are people who may have vowed that you won’t make progress; there are battles to be fought and won, and as the year begins, make up your mind to win your battles.

Step out in faith and with courage, and win the battles that come your way. Win the battles that have come to reduce you; defeat the conspiracies that may arise on your way; use prayers and prophetic warfare to deal deadly blows to your battles; step out and win your battles like one who has been anointed to win; run your race as one who understands that victory has already been secured through Christ.

Saul was not going to fight for himself alone; he was to lead Israel in their battles. If he failed to lead them, they would probably end up as victims in the hands of their adversaries. If you fail to fight your battles, you will make those connected to you to become victims in their own battles. If you fail to fight and win, there are people connected to you who may become victims.

You belong to the generation of those who win their battles. Step out and win. Face your battles and let your victory in Christ find expression.

Declaration
